Change Expiration Date of Microsoft Teams Recordings

By default, recordings of Microsoft Teams meetings expire after 60 days. The expiration dates of recordings can be changed or removed when viewing the recording through Stream.

Privacy Consent: When you begin recording a Teams meeting, the camera and microphone of participants will be muted until they consent to being recorded. If they do not consent, they will remain in the meeting with their camera and microphone disabled. They may use the Chat to communicate.

Locate the Recording

Using Stream

  1. Visit Microsoft Stream and sign in with your UConn email address and NetID password.

  2. Move down the page to the filters. Click on Meetings.

  3. Open the video recording on your meeting. Continue below in the next section.

Using your calendar

  1. Open the Teams App and go to your calendar.

  2. Find the previously held meeting that was recorded and click on it to open it.

  3. Click on the recording to open it in Stream

Alter or remove the expiration date

Once you are viewing your recording, take a look below the meeting title and you will see the expiration date. Click on this date to change/remove it.
