Adjust Your View in a Teams Meeting

This article is for faculty, staff, and students who have an active Office 365 account that are having trouble viewing the desired speaker during a group Teams call.

Switching Between People and Content

Teams tries to anticipate what you will want to see in a meeting. The view will automatically switch to content a user is sharing, or show the current speaking participant when no content is being shared.

When someone is sharing content you can switch back to a user’s video by clicking on the small video preview for that user. You can switch back to the shared content by clicking the small content preview.

Pinning a Video

To focus on a particular video, right-click and select Pin. The video will be pinned to your view regardless of who's talking. You can pin as many videos as will fit on your screen. If you change your mind, right-click again and hit Unpin.

Viewing Multiple Users' Video at Once (Gallery View)

You can switch between different styles of views during meetings to best serve your needs.

  1. Click the More icon.

  2. Select the desired view.

    1. Gallery
See multiple user’s video feeds at once.

    2. Large Gallery
See more video feeds than “Gallery”. May slow down your computer. Only recommended for fast internet connections.

    3. Together Mode
Teams will place user’s faces in a virtual lecture hall background.

Reframing a Video

Teams crops some videos to make them fit your screen better. If you want a different view of a particular video—for example, if someone is cropped out of the video or it only shows part of their face, right-click and select Fit to frame to see the entire video.

Select Fill frame to see a closer, cropped view.
