Specific Use: On Site Storage

ITS offers faculty and staff a secure file storage solution hosted on the Storrs campus offering benefits of local storage when compared to cloud storage (high I/O performance for lab equipment, for example). This storage drive can be connected to your computer to function like an internal drive. Files are backed up nightly and secured by the University's firewalls.

The R: drive serves as a dedicated space for research, lab equipment data, and High-Performance Computing (HPC) needs. The files on this drive persist if an individual with access departs from the University, ensuring continuity and accessibility for ongoing projects.
