Webex Webinars

Webex Webinars is a great option for hosting seminars/events and delivering content to many people remotely.

  1. Use Webex Webinars when the presentation is one-way. In other words, there is no, or very limited, vocal audience participation.

  2. A Webinar can have up to 1,000 participants.

    1. Learn how to Live-Stream to a larger audience at Webex Live-Streaming.

  3. Webex Webinars is web-based, so there is no need for a VPN. Do not use a Remote Desktop Connection.

  4. The audience may use Chat and Q&A.

  5. Panelists, Cohosts, and the Host may make use of the Practice Session.

  8. With Webex Webinars,

    1. There is just one join link for both Panelists and Attendees.

    2. Panelists and attendees may join using the Web App ("join from browser"); no download is required.

    3. It is very easy to lock your Webinar behind UConn NetID Login.

    4. Automatic recording is now available (disables Automatic Practice Session).

    5. Automatic Practice Session at the beginning of the Webinar is now available (disables Automatic Recording).

Users may schedule up to 5 concurrent sessions. Both Webex Meetings and Webex Webinars count towards this quota.

The Host of the Webinars shouldn’t always be the speaker or the leader, often the Host role should be given to the user tasked with monitoring/managing the session.
