How long can my Webex session run?

Every session has a limit of 24 hours.

How many sessions can I run from my account at the same time?

Your Webex account can have 5 concurrently scheduled sessions. It does not matter if you are not hosting/participating in these sessions; you cannot have more than 5 sessions concurrently scheduled, even though Webex allows you to schedule more. Both Meetings and Webinars will count towards this quota.

If you need more than 5 sessions, please consider using Breakout Sessions. Otherwise, please plan on coordinating with other UConn users to have them schedule some from their account.

What should I know about Breakout Sessions?

  • Participants can be automatically sorted or manually sorted. A manual sort will take some time if you have a lot of Participants.

  • Invited Participants can be pre-assigned a Breakout Session.

  • If allowed by the Host, Participants who are using the Webex Desktop App can move themselves between Breakout Sessions.

  • The Host and Cohosts can manage the breakout sessions, but not at the same time.

  • The Host and Cohosts will not be automatically assigned to a session; they must be assigned manually. They can move from session to session.

  • Up to 100 breakout sessions; 1,000 Participants can be split split among those sessions.

  • Sessions can be named.

Can I record or livestream my Webex sessions? Can I share those Recordings?

Yes, the record and livestream functions are independent and can be activated at any time.

How do I connect my Webex to a classroom that has cameras built in?

All UConn classrooms now send their microphones to the computer and laptop USB connection.
