Recreate an Outlook Profile
If you are having issues opening Outlook or if it is not responding, your profile may be corrupted. This article covers how to recreate your Outlook profile.
Open Outlook and select the File tab.
Select Account Settings and then Account Settings again to open the settings window.
In the "Account Settings" window that opens, select the Data Files tab.
You need to save a copy of your profile before it can be removed. With your profile selected, click Add.
Save the outlook file when prompted. You can leave the default name and file location.
After the copy of the profile is saved, go to the Email tab.
Select your profile and then click Remove.
Click New and go through the setup prompts to recreate your profile for your @uconn.edu email.
Recreating the Profile Through Control Panel (Use if Outlook is Unresponsive)
In the Windows Search box, search for Control Panel, and open the Control Panel App.
In the Control Panel App, search for mail, and click to open Mail (Microsoft Outlook) or Mail (32-bit).
Select Show Profiles
Select Add, type a name for the new profile, and select OK. The name is not shown anywhere except for this profile window, so the name is not important.
The Add Account window will appear and auto-fill your name and email address. Select Next.
When prompted for credentials, type your email address as the username (remove any pre-filled entries) and enter your password. Select Remember my credentials, and then click OK.
At the Congratulations window, uncheck Set up Outlook Mobile on my phone, too. Select Finish.
Make sure Always use this profile is checked, and the new profile you created is selected
Select OK, close the Control Panel, and open Outlook.
