I Can't Hear Others in Teams

When entering a Teams meeting, you can change your audio playback and recording settings. If you cannot hear others in Teams, make sure the correct speakers are selected in the audio settings.

Check and install any new updates for Teams. This may correct some errors and introduce new features.

Changing Settings when Joining a Meeting

  1. Click to join the meeting through your email or calendar.

  2. In this menu, select Computer audio.

  3. Under Computer audio, select the settings button.

  4. In the sidebar to the right, you can change your microphone and playback devices.

  5. Once you have selected the correct device, click Join now.

Changing Settings During a Meeting

  1. Select the ellipsis in the meeting for More actions.

  2. Select Device settings.

  3. Select the device from the sidebar on the right.

Changing Settings through Teams Settings

  1. In the Microsoft teams client, select your icon located in the top right.

  2. Select Settings (cogwheel).

  3. Click Devices within the settings menu.

  4. Click the drop-down menu under "Speaker" and select your active speakers/headphones.
