Changing Speaker, Microphone, and Camera Options in Webex

This article is for faculty, students and staff, and provides instructions for changing your default audio and camera options, as well as for changing your preferences during a WebEx call. 

The "Use system setting" option will tell Webex to use the microphone/speaker/camera that Windows/MacOS labels as its default. You may choose a device different than your OS default.

Before you Join

The Video Preview window appears after you click on the link to join the room. After altering your microphone/camera choice you may click on Start/Join Meeting.

Click on the mute button arrow

If Webex initially only detects one camera, you are unable to change your choice of Webcam before hosting/joining the meeting.

During a Call

  1. Click on the caret in the Mute/Unmute button to alter Microphone Settings. Click on the caret in the Start/Stop Video button to alter Camera Settings. 

  2. A pop-up menu will show the other audio input/output options.
