Content Types
Faculty and staff can access various types of content in HuskyCT.

Overview
Item: Created using a built-in text editor that can include text, images, tables, etc. directly to a Content Area/Content Folder page.
File: Browse your computer or Content Collection to add a file that was created outside of HuskyCT such as PDF, Word, and PowerPoint.
Audio: Directly upload an audio file, which can be played directly from HuskyCT without being downloaded.
Image: Directly upload an image to a Content Area.
Video: Directly upload an image to a Content Area.
This option is not recommended; Kaltura should be used for video uploads in HuskyCT.Web Link: Provide users with a link to an external site.
Learning Module: Organizes multiple content items into a collection with links in a Table of Contents that is generated during the build process.
Lesson Plan: Creates a lesson plan that can be visible to students.
Syllabus: Specific content type to upload a syllabus, which can also be done using the "File" or "Item" tools. Allows syllabuses to be created entirely within HuskyCT without a file.
Course Link: Create a link to any content area or course item.
Google Assignments LTI: Link a google assignment to your HuskyCT course.
Portfolium LTI: Link portfolium to your HuskyCT course.
Google Drive File Embed Tool: Embed a google drive file into your HuskyCT course
Link to ALEKS: Create a link to ALEKS from your HuskyCT course.
Content Package (SCORM): Import a SCORM content package into your HuskyCT course.
Content Folder: A page that allows for the addition of all content types using “Build Content,” “Assessments”, “Tools,” and “Publisher Content.”
Module Page: Create a link to a new page where many types of modules can be added, such as iClicker registration and announcements.
Blank Page: Create a blank page to add to a content area. Text, images, and files can be added to the blank page.
Flickr Photo: Add a photo from Flickr to your HuskyCT course.
SlideShare Presentation: Embed a SlideShare presentation into your HuskyCT course.
YouTube Video: A “Mashup” that allows for easy embedding of YouTube content.
Panopto Video Embed: Embed a video from Panopto into your HuskyCT course.
Kaltura Media: For more information about using Kaltura to upload videos to HuskyCT, see Recording Technologies.
When you are adding a file or a web link, ensure that it is set to Open in New Window.
"Build Content" Options
Standard Options
These options are available for all types of content.
File Options:
It is highly recommended to click Yes on “Open in New Window” for Files and Web Links.
Organizing Content Types on a Page
Rearranging Content on a Page
Navigate to the area to the left of the icon or link until the 4-headed arrow appears.
Click and drag up or down, and then release the mouse.
Hiding/Showing Content on a Page
Click the gray down arrow for the Options menu.
Choose Edit.
Choose either Yes or No next to Permit Users to View this Content.
Click Submit when you have finished.
Removing Content From a Page
Click the gray down arrow for the Options menu.
Choose Delete.
Click on the Submit button when you have finished.
