Editing the Navigation Menu
This article is for faculty and staff who wish to edit the navigation menu.
Turn Edit Mode on. Whenever you wish to work in your course and make changes, Edit Mode must be turned on. This button is located at the upper right-hand corner of your screen when you are inside a course site where you are the instructor.
Activate the Option menu.
Hover over the link you wish to edit.
Click on the gray circle with a white down arrow. The option menu will then display.
Choose an Action. There are five Actions to choose from.
Renaming a Link: This action makes the name field editable. You can save your changes with the green check.
Hiding a Link: This action hides the link from students. The hidden status is denoted by a small square with a line.
Showing a Link: This action is only available for hidden links.
Deleting a Link: This action removes a link from the menu after a series of warning and confirmation pop-ups, as shown below in Parts i and ii.
You will first receive an Are you Sure? message. Click Delete content to proceed.
You will then receive another pop-up message advising that selecting the Delete action will permanently delete content. Click Delete to finalize.
Note: If there is content in the area being deleted, this is indicated in the warning message. If there are Folders or Assignments, these will also be permanently deleted and need to be recreated.
Moving a Link: This action re-positions a link to a different location on the page. To move a link,
Click on the arrow.
Hold the mouse button down.
Move the link up or down.
