Adding Links to Content on OneDrive
This article is intended for instructors looking to add content stored on their OneDrive to HuskyCT Original Course View
Copying OneDrive Share Link
Navigate to https://office.com/ and click Login
Enter your UConn Email and NetID Password and if prompted, accept the DUO Push
Click the 3 by 3 menu in the upper left hand corner and click OneDrive
On the left hand navigation menu, click My Files
Click on the item you want to share and then click Share
The Share dialog will appear, click the gear icon in the upper right of the dialog box
Under Share this link with, select People in University of Connecticut. This will allow anyone with a UConn Email to access the link, they will be prompted to login to Office 365
Next under More Settings, select either Can Edit or Can View
Can Edit: Anyone in the University of Connecticut with the link can make changes except to the file permissions. This is best for sign-up sheets or shared documents where students are expected to contribute.
Can View: Anyone in the University of Connecticut with the link can view, but not edit the file. This is best for documents students should read, but not change for example a syllabus or course reading.
Click Apply
Next click Copy Link, the share link will now be saved to your clipboard
Adding OneDrive URL to HuskyCT
Navigate to HuskyCT and login with your NetID and Password
Select the course you want to add the link to
The link can be added as a standalone Web Link, on either the Course Menu or a Content Area, or can be added as a link within any text box.
Course Menu:
Click on the Plus Sign and click Web Link
Enter the Title, which is the text displayed to students
In the URL field, paste the link from step 10 above
If you want the link to be visible to students, check Available to Users
Click Submit
Content Area:
Click Build Content and select Web Link
In the Name field, enter the name displayed to students
In the URL field, paste the link from step 10 above
Set any additional options and click Submit
Students can now click on the link to access the document
