Restore OneDrive
Faculty, staff, and students who have made many changes to their OneDrive and now wish to revert those changes may follow this guide to restore their OneDrive to a previous point in time.
If you have deleted many items across different folders, changed file or folder names, or moved items, this guide will help you revert those changes.
If you simply deleted files or a folder that you wish to retrieve, you may visit the Recycle Bin up to 93 days after deletion. Learn more: https://uconn.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/IKB/pages/10787029676
This restore does not affect SharePoint files.
How to restore your OneDrive
The restore tool is sequential. If you wish to undo an action, all actions between the present and the action must be undone.
This restore will not just bring back deleted/moved files but will also undo changes made to files.
When restoring, any files or folders created after the Restore point date will be sent to your OneDrive Recycle Bin.
If a file has been permanently deleted from your OneDrive Recycle Bin, then it can never be recovered.
If you change your mind about the restore you just did, you can undo the restore by running Restore again and selecting the restore action you just did.
Navigate to s.uconn.edu/onedrive and sign in with your email address and NetID password.
Click on the Settings gear in the top-right corner.
Click on Restore your OneDrive.
Start by selecting a time-frame you wish to revert to.
Move the slider until it aligns with the desired day.
Move your cursor down the list until you find the desired action you wish to base your restoration off of. Click on the circle to highlight the action.
Click Restore.
Remain on this page to see the progress of the Restore.
OneDrive will now restore itself to the state it was in at your chosen time.
