Unlink a SharePoint site from your OneDrive

Students, faculty, and staff may disconnect their SharePoint site so that the site’s files no longer appear in their OneDrive.

Follow these instructions to avoid data loss.

  1. Navigate to s.uconn.edu/onedrive and sign in with your NetID and NetID Password.

  2. Click on My Files in the left menu.

  3. Find the shortcut leading to the SharePoint you want to unlink.
    Remember this link’s icon will have a folder with a chain link on it.

  4. Right click, or click on the ellipsis, and choose to Remove.
    Notice the context menu says “Remove” and not “Delete”. This is because it is only a link to another document library, not a folder itself.
    This will not delete files inside the SharePoint site.
    Give your connected computers some time to receive and process this update from the website.
