Respond to a File Request

When a user sends out a file request through OneDrive or SharePoint, a request may be sent through an automatic email or by a message created by the user. Users can click the included link to submit the requested file(s).

Responding to a Request

The Upload files button in your email will open up your web browser. This is to ensure that your files travel directly to OneDrive or SharePoint in a secure and encrypted transmission.

You will receive an email from the person who has requested the file.

  1. Open email containing a file request. Click on the Upload files button.

  2. Your web browser will now open. Click on Select Files to upload the file you want to submit.

  3. In popup window that opens, find and select the file/folder you want to share, and click Open.

  4. The file you selected will be submitted to the requester. You can select additional files if needed.

  5. Click Upload to submit your chosen file(s).
    You will not be able to see files uploaded by other users.
