Webex Join/Start Button is Grayed-Out (Resolved System Wide)

Users trying to join or begin a meeting may sometimes find that the Join or Start Meeting button is grayed out. This can be fixed by choosing the correct audio connection setting.

  1. If the button is grayed out, you are likely set to the "Call me" option. This feature is not supported by UConn.
    Note: "Call in" works with the UConn system.

  2. Click Call me to expand the options menu. Always choose Use computer for audio if you plan on transmitting your voice. Follow the next section of this guide to learn how to begin transmitting your voice if you choose not to connect before joining.

  3. The Join/Start button will now be green.

Connecting Audio After the Meeting has Begun

If you choose "Don't connect to audio" before joining the Meeting, follow these steps to connect to audio while in the Meeting.

  1. Move your cursor over the window to make the row of buttons appear at the bottom. Click on the icon that resides on the far left of the row. This is normally the microphone mute button.

  2. A window will appear asking you which connection method you would like to initiate. Always choose "Use computer for audio."
