Checking for Direct Access on Workstations
Windows workstations for faculty and staff that are managed by ITS have Direct Access (DA) enabled on them. DA allows you to access network resources, such as the P: and Q: drives, while off the UConn network.
Click the network utility icon in your taskbar.
If you see ITS Direct Access System, it is enabled on your workstation. You do not need to take any actions to have a secure connection to on-campus resources.
If you are not able to connect to UConn resources this way, you can connect to the University network through the virtual private network (VPN).
