Students, faculty and staff can update Ubuntu Linux. 

Installing Updates in Ubuntu Linux

  1. Use the desktop search function to find the Update Manager.

  2. Open the Update Manager.

  3. Click Check to find all new updates.

  4. Click on the Install Updates option. Ubuntu will prompt you for the user password when installing updates.

Enabling Automatic Updates in Ubuntu Linux

  1. Open Update Manager.

  2. Click the Settings button in the bottom left.

  3. In the Updates tab, set the Check for Updates field to Daily and Install Security Updates Without Confirmation.

  4. Select Close.
