Teams Chat Features

Students, faculty, and staff can utilize tools within Teams Chat to increase productivity.

Calendar integration

This tool requires no input from a user in the Chat. Teams will let you know when a member of the Chat is out of office.

@ mention a user

Type an @ into the chat box to notify a person in a group chat directly. Everyone will receive a notification, but the mentioned person will receive a special notice.

Alter font, size, etc.

Click on the A icon to alter the text before it is sent.

Mark messages as Important/Urgent

Click on the red escalation point to change the importance of the message.

Reply to a message

Hover your cursor over a message to reply to it. Click on the rounded arrow to open the reply box.

Forward a message

Hover your cursor over a message to forward it. Click on the ellipsis to view more options. Click on Foward.

Edit a sent message

Hover your cursor over your sent message to edit it. Click on the pencil icon to open the edit box.

Multi-function: open all the commands

Type a / in either the chat entry box or the search bar at the top to view many commands.
