Resetting or Changing Your NetID Password
Students, staff, faculty can reset their password if they forgot it or change their NetID password if they know their current NetID password.
I forgot my NetID password and am unable to access my NetID account
Go to the NetID website.
Select the Reset button under Reset Password.
Enter your NetID and your date of birth in MM/DD/YYYY format.
Click Continue.
Recommended: If you added a personal (non-UConn) email or cell phone number for password recovery, you can reset your password with an email or text. You will be sent a verification code to either your email or phone.
Alternative: If you did not set a password recovery option, click Use One Time Code. You will be given a verification code by the Technology Support Center.Enter the verification code in the pop-up window on netid.uconn.edu.
You will now be able to create a new password.

I know my NetID password and can sign in
If you ever suspect that you were a victim of a phishing scam or that your NetID credentials were compromised in any way, change your password immediately to one you have not used before. For help creating a strong and memorable password see Creating Strong Passwords or Passphrases.
Go to the NetID website.
Click Change on the Change Password box.
Sign in using your NetID and password.
Enter your current password.
Enter your new password in the appropriate fields, following the password complexity rules. See below for the complexity rules.
Click Change Password at the bottom of the page. You will receive a confirmation message in your email.
