Delegated Grading
For Ultra Course View: Delegated Grading in Ultra Course View
Instructors can use delegated grading in their courses.
Delegated grading occurs when the instructor of a course assigns users called delegated graders to provide provisional grades. Rather than having the instructor grade the assignment, delegated graders can provide grades and feedback that the instructor can later review and reconcile.
Each instructor and final grader has the ability to view what scores, feedback, annotations, and private notes other graders provided. Graders and teaching assistants who are not final graders can only access this information if you grant them permission when you create an assignment. If allowed, a grader can view the file annotations made by another grader and add more.
Enabling Delegated Grading
Under Grading, select Grading Options. Then select Enable Delegated Grading.
If the grader will only grade a certain number of groups, you can dictate that under Submissions to Grade.
If you do not want the grader to be able to reconcile grades, uncheck the box under the Reconcile Grade column.
Click Submit.
Disabling Delegated Grading
To disable delegated grading, return to the assignment settings and uncheck the delegated grading box under Grading Options. You will get a pop-up warning you about the change.
Reconciling Grades
Once the graders provided their feedback there will be a blue circle as the student's score in the Full Grade Center.
Option 1
Navigate to the full grade center and select the drop-down arrow to the right of the column name. In the menu, select Reconcile Grades.
Option 2
To access the reconcile grades page, navigate to Needs Grading page > Needs Reconciliation tab at the top of the page.
To approve the grade, the final grader must select the drop-down arrow to the right of the score (or symbol) and select the attempt. The final grader sees a Reconcile Grades link in the student's attempt when grades are ready to reconcile.
