Attaching an External Link in Lockdown Browser

Instructors can allow access to external links during assessments given through Respondus Lockdown Browser. There are many reasons for the inclusion of an external link (e.g., allowing access to a formula sheet).

Prior to allowing an external link in the assessment, instructors must (1) create the test and (2) follow directions to distribute the assessment through LockDown Browser. For more information, see Help Center Tool for Lockdown Browser. The link must be attached to a specific question

  1. Access the Respondus Lockdown Browser dashboard page from the Course Tools menu in your HuskyCT course.

  2. Locate the appropriate exam.

  3. Select the drop-down menu to the left of the assessment title.

  4. Select Settings

  5. Select Advanced Settings for more options.

  6. Check the Allow access to specific external web domains box, and enter the URL.

  7. Select Save & Close. Your students should now have access to the URL provided while using Lockdown Browser.

For more information about adding external links, see LockDown Browser: Using External Links and Files. For additional questions or assistance, contact Educational Technologies at edtech@uconn.edu.
