Tips for best LockDown Browser Experience
Tips
Download and Install LockDown Browser before you need to take an exam
Check for updates for LockDown Browser before beginning an exam, this will help ensure performance and stability
Shut down all bandwidth-intensive apps that might be running on the network (Netflix, Prime, YouTube, etc.)
Close apps that will interfere with LockDown Browser such as video conferencing, screen recording or capture tools
LockDown Browser will try to close these apps, if it can’t, you will not be able to take the exam
Troubleshooting
Restart the modem/router to help establish the best possible internet signal
Restart your computer and close any apps that are running on the computer
If possible, use a hard-wired Ethernet connection
If a hard-wired connection is not possible, be as close to the router or Wi-Fi access point as possible. Stay at least 4ft away from the Wi-Fi access point.
If on campus, ensure you are connecting to UCONN-SECURE, not UCONN-GUEST as this will provide the best connectivity
Try leaving and accessing the exam again via LockDown Browser
If the problem persists, try using a different network (internet connection).
