LockDown Browser Recording Failed

This article is intended for students who are taking an online exam in HuskyCT using LockDown Browser with the Webcam requirement and get a "recording failed" error during the webcam check.

If your recording fails when you attempt to either record it or play it back, please try again. If the error persists, it is likely that your connection to our server is not sufficient. We recommend that you:

  1. Update LockDown Browser to the latest version.

  2. Restart your computer. After the restart, manually shut down all other applications on the computer.

  3. Move as close to the router as possible, or try using a different Wi-Fi network.

If the problem persists, try using an Ethernet cable to hardwire into the router.
