Answering a Call

To answer a call, lift the handset or depress the Speaker button.

Placing an Emergency 911 Call

To place an emergency call, dial 911.

Placing a Call on Hold

To place a call on hold, depress HOLD.

Retrieving a Call on Hold

To retrieve a call on hold, depress Blinking Call Appearance.

Transferring a Call

  1. Depress TRANSFER button.

  2. Listen for Dial Tone or manually select the available Line Key.

  3. Dial the 5-digit UConn extension number (6-xxxx or 7-xxxx).

  4. Announce call.

  5. Depress TRANSFER and hang up.

Three-Way Conferencing

  1. Have Call in Progress.

  2. Depress CONFERENCE button.

  3. Dial the third party.

  4. Depress CONFERENCE button.

Six-Way Conferencing

Storrs

  1. Lift the handset.

  2. Dial 112 before placing the call.

  3. Call the first party and have Call in Progress.

  4. Depress CONFERENCE button and dial the next party.

  5. Depress CONFERENCE button again to join parties. You may also activate this feature during a call by:

    1. Depress CONFERENCE button.

    2. Dial 112.

    3. Call the next party.

    4. Depress CONFERENCE button to join parties.

    5. Depress CONFERENCE button and dial the next party.

    6. Depress CONFERENCE button to join parties.

Branches

  1. Feature available upon request.

  2. Dial 123 instead of 112.

  3. Call the first party and have Call in Progress.

  4. Depress CONFERENCE button and dial the next party.

Conference Services

Verizon Business is the contracted provider for additional conference services beyond the three-way and six-way conference calling features provided by ITS.

To request conference services with Verizon Business,

  1. Contact the ITS Help Center at (860) 486-4357 to obtain UConn’s agency code and authorization code. You will need to provide this information to Verizon Business when setting up the service. Please have ready the telephone number you wish the services to be billed to.

  2. Contact Verizon Business at 1-800-475-5000.

  3. Identify yourself as a State of Connecticut employee.

  4. Explain your conference call needs. (The most common service used is “instant meeting,” but Verizon Business can help you determine what is best.)

  5. Provide Verizon Business with UConn’s agency and authorization codes.

Please schedule your conference call at least 24 hours in advance.

Also, be aware that for all conference services except “operator assisted,” any conference with two (2) or less participants will prompt Verizon supervision after ninety (90) minutes to request meeting organizer to press *1 to retain conference bridge.

Call Forwarding Calls

Storrs

  1. Lift the handset or depress the SPEAKER button.

  2. Dial 72#.

  3. Dial the 5-digit UConn extension number (6-xxxx or 7-xxxx).

  4. Hear confirmation tone.

  5. Depress CFV key to Activate or Deactivate.

Branches

  1. Lift the handset or depress the SPEAKER button.

  2. Dial 172.

  3. Dial the 4-digit UConn extension number.

  4. Hear confirmation tone.

  5. Depress CFV key to Activate or Deactivate.

Call Forwarding Calls on Secondary Line Only

  1. Activate – Dial 78#.

  2. Dial the 5-digit UConn extension number (6-xxxx or 7-xxxx).

  3. Deactivate – Dial 79#.

Call Pickup

  1. Lift the handset or depress the SPEAKER button.

  2. Dial *99.

1-Digit Speed Calling

  1. Lift the handset or depress the SPEAKER button.

  2. Depress the Speed Call button or dial *74.

  3. Dial Speed Call Code (2-9) plus telephone number.

  4. Hear Confirmation Tone.

2-Digit Speed Calling

  1. Lift the handset or depress the SPEAKER button.

  2. Dial *75.

  3. Dial Speed Call Code (20-39) plus telephone number.

  4. Hear Confirmation Tone.

Using Speed Call

  1. Lift the handset or depress the SPEAKER button.

  2. Listen for Dial Tone.

  3. Dial code plus #.

Auto Call Back Calling (On Campus Only)

  1. Receive Busy Signal.

  2. Depress ACBC button.

  3. Hear Confirmation Tone.

  4. Hang up.

Retrieving Call Back

  1. Answer call when ACBC and your Call Appearance flash and ring.

Canceling Call Back

  1. Lift the handset or depress the SPEAKER button.

  2. Listen for Dial Tone.

  3. Dial *86.

  4. Hang up.
