Multi-Line Telephones

ITS provides support for University-issued single-line telephones. Multi-line telephones have a handset, a base on which to rest the handset, and a keypad. Unlike single-line phones, multi-line phones enable users to accommodate multiple calls at once or monitor multiple phone numbers simultaneously. The base of a multi-line phone has more buttons to enable users to access additional phone lines and features. Faculty, students, and staff can operate multi-line telephones and use them to place different types of calls, including conference calls, to specific entities.

Multi-line phones do not operate in the same way as single-line phones. Multi-phones require a multi-line phone jack; single-line phones will not work with a multi-line phone jack.
