Messages in an Outlook mailbox older than 2 years are automatically moved to a searchable and modifiable Online Archive. Users who have an Outlook mailbox can access their Online Archive.

Features of the Archive Mailbox

An archive mailbox is an additional mailbox that appears alongside your primary mailbox to store mail

  • 1.5 TB of additional storage alongside your 100GB primary mailbox

  • Messages that are older than 2 years are moved to the corresponding folder in the archive mailbox automatically

  • Accessible through Outlook Web Access (OWA) and Outlook clients

  • Emails in the archive are searchable

What is Moved to the Archive Mailbox

All mail older than two years will automatically be moved to the archive mailbox. To search for these emails in your inbox, ensure you are searching in all mailboxes.

Where the Archive Mailbox is Located

The archive mailbox will be listed as an additional entry under the primary mailbox in both Outlook Desktop and Outlook Web Access.
