Cisco Jabber - Altering Application Settings
After installing the Jabber application, it is recommended that you review the application settings to ensure they match your use case.
On Windows, click on the Settings gear in the top-right corner to open Settings.
On Mac, find Jabber in the menu bar that sits at the top of your screen. Choose Settings.
Note: Click Apply after you make changes. If you click Okay, the Settings menu will close.
In General, you may want to start Jabber when your computer turns on.
In the Audio tab, you may set the default audio devices for Jabber.
In the Advanced tab, you may also set the order of preference of your available audio devices.
In the Video tab, you may set the default video device for Jabber.
In the Advanced tab, you may also set the order of preference of your available video devices.
In the Calls tab, you may set your preference for starting your camera with calls. This only applies when calling other computer users, not landline or cell phone users.
In the Notifications tab, you may disable incoming call notifications on your computer. You may also make the notifications appear in the bottom-left instead of the bottom-right corner of your screen. Here, you may also set your ringtone.
In the Accounts tab, please enter your NetID credentials into the Voicemail section in order to access your voicemail on your computer.
In the Appearance tab, you may set your application to the Dark theme. This will make the application easier on your eyes in a darker room setting.
If you would like to hide the Jabber icon that now resides at the side of your screen, uncheck Show docked window in the View menu.
