Enrolling your Mac with Device Enrollment Program (DEP) - JAMF

Faculty and staff can enroll their Mac computers in the Device Enrollment Program (DEP). 

This checklist is only for Macs that are brand new or have been purchased through the Apple Punchout in HuskyBuy. If your Mac was purchased from anywhere else, see Manually Enrolling your Mac with JAMF (non-DEP). 

This checklist also assumes that the device has already been enrolled in JAMF. To enroll a device in JAMF, create an ITS service ticket to request enrollment.

Follow the checklist below to configure your Mac. 

  1. Power on the Mac. 

  2. Select United States from the list of countries.

    select united states and press continue
  3. Press Continue.

  4. Select a keyboard layout and press Continue.

    Note: If you are not connected to Ethernet, you must connect to Wi-Fi. If you are not the end user of the computer, connect to UCONN-GUEST. If you are the end user of the computer, connect to UCONN-SECURE.

  5. After you are connected to the internet, press Continue.

  6. Press Continue.

  7. Sign in with your NetID and Password.

  8. Check Set time zone automatically using current location.

  9. Enable Location Services. 

  10. Press Continue.

Your Mac will then be enrolled in the Device Enrollment Program. At this point, please continue working with ITS staff so we can place your computer in the appropriate group in our Mac management system.

After working with ITS staff to place the computer in the appropriate static group the computer will then need to be restarted.
