JAMF Connect - Privileged Escalation

Prerequisites:  

  • MAC that has been “enrolled” through the “JAMF Connect - Laptop, Desktop”, Prestage.

  1. Click the JAMF Connect icon in the upper-right hand corner of the menu bar, and click “Request Admin Privileges”

  1. Enter a reason for the elevation within the pop message and click “Continue”.

     

  2. A timer will appear on the menu bar to represent the amount of time your account will retain administrator access.

 

Notes:

Software installations, OS upgrades, and other tasks initiated during the 10-minute window of elevated access will continue to complete under that elevated status, even if the process extends beyond the designated time. Any task started within the scope of elevated access will maintain that elevated access until it is finished.
