Manually Enrolling your Mac with Jamf (non-DEP)

Jamf Pro is comprehensive enterprise management software for the Apple platform. UConn IT professionals can configure University-owned Macs for Jamf through a manual enrollment.

Any devices that are current in ITS' device lifecycle should be enrolled through the Device Enrollment Program through Apple School Manager instead of being manually enrolled. This article should only be used in extenuating circumstances that require a manual enrollment. See Enrolling your Mac with Device Enrollment Program (DEP) - JAMF. 

  1. Connect the Mac you wish to configure to the internet using Ethernet or Wi-Fi.

  2. Open any web browser.

  3. Navigate to Apple's device enrollment page.

  4. On the login screen (shown below), enter your NetID credentials.

  5. You then will be asked to download and install the CA certificate. Press Continue.

  6. System Settings will open with the screen shown below. Click Install.

  7. Navigate back to the web browser you were using. You will then be asked to install the MDM Profile. Click Continue.

  8. System Settings will open again. Click Install.
