Cisco AnyConnect VPN Realms

This guide is intended for faculty, staff, and students to explain the different Realms (also known as Profiles) that are offered when connecting to the Cisco AnyConnect VPN.

VPN Realms (Profiles)

When you first connect to the Cisco AnyConnect VPN, you will be presented with a list of different Realms:

• General-VPN
  This is the standard VPN to which most everyone will be connecting. This VPN will allow you access to UConn Resources, as well as being Split-Tunneled (for an explanation of Split Tunneling. For more information, see About Split Tunneling on Cisco AnyConnect VPN.

• Privileged-VPN
  The Privileged VPN is used to grant ITS staff access to specific network resources for management purposes only.
