Request to Reserve an EMS Space
In order to reserve an EMS space, you will need to use a reservation template. Your reservation template functions as a booking request and your reservation will be complete upon department approval.
Spaces can be reserved by UConn Faculty/Staff only.
If you do not have access to the reservation template you are looking for, please submit a support request form under EMS Access: https://kb.uconn.edu/portal/1
To request to reserve an EMS Space:
Sign into your EMS Web Portal with your Net ID and password at EMS Web Portal Sign On.
Click Create a Reservation from the browse menu in the left sidebar of your EMS Homepage.
Click to begin your reservation request.Find your reservation template and click Book now.
Click Book Now to create your reservation.Once redirected, enter the Date, Start Time, and End Time into the fields provided.
If you are making a recurring reservation, click Recurrence and enter the recurrence details in the pop up window. Schedule an end date for the recurring reservation OR enter the number of occurrences you wish to reserve and click Apply Recurrence.
Search for a space to reserve in one of the following ways:
If you know which space you want to reserve:
Upon completion of steps 1-5 above:
Scroll down and click on the I Know What Room I Want option from the left sidebar menu of your EMS reservation page.
Enter the Room Name of the space you wish to reserve, which is its building code and room number. For support on confirming or finding the building code of a space, visit: EMS Space Directories & Building Codes
Enter the Room Name and number of the space you wish to reserve. Click the green + icon next to the space (this function is only accessible if the space is available to reserve).
In the pop-up window, enter the expected Number of Attendees for your event and click Add Room.
Confirm that the space you wish to reserve appears under the Selected Room tab of your EMS reservation page and click Next Step.
Once redirected to the Reservation Details tab, enter the Event Name of your reservation. Select the appropriate Event Type from the options provided in the drop-down menu.
Select the appropriate Group from the options provided in the drop-down menu and enter your Contact information (phone number and email address) into the fields provided.
Review the EMS reservation terms and conditions by clicking on Terms and Conditions. Click I have read and agree to the Terms and Conditions.
Click Create Reservation.
Your EMS space reservation request has been submitted and will be complete upon approval from your department. You will receive an email notification when your reservation is approved.
If you want to reserve a space by specific building
Upon completion of steps 1-5 above:
In the Locations field, click Add/Remove.
In the pop-up window, enter the space’s building name into the search bar provided OR select the space’s building in the list provided and click Update Locations.

Available spaces in the selected location will appear with a green + icon. If you are looking for a space of a certain size, mind the capacity number of the space you wish to reserve shown under the Cap column.
Click the green + icon next to building code of the space you wish to reserve. In the pop-up window, enter the expected Number of Attendees for your event and click Add Room.
Confirm that the space you wish to reserve appears under the Selected Rooms tab of your EMS reservation page and click Next Step.
Once redirected to the Reservation Details tab, enter the Event Name of your reservation. Select the appropriate Event Type from the options provided in the drop-down menu.
Select the appropriate Group from the options provided in the drop-down menu and enter your Contact information (phone number and email address) into the fields provided.
Review the EMS reservation terms and conditions by clicking on Terms and Conditions. Click I have read and agree to the Terms and Conditions.
Click Create Reservation.
Your EMS space reservation request has been submitted and will be complete upon approval from your department. You will receive an email notification when your reservation is approved.
If you want to reserve a space by room type or capacity:
Upon completion of steps 1-5 above:
Click on the Let Me Search For A Room option from the left sidebar menu of your EMS reservation page.
Specify space details:
Specific room type: In the Room Types field, click Add/Remove. In the pop-up window, select the room type you wish to reserve in the list provided and click Update Room Types.
Capacity: Enter the expected number of attendees for your reservation in the Number of People field provided.
Click Search. Available spaces that meet the specified details will appear with a green + icon. Pay attention to the capacity number of the space you wish to reserve, which is shown under the Cap column.
Click the green + icon next to building code of the space you wish to reserve. In the pop-up window, enter the expected Number of Attendees for your event and click Add Room.
Confirm that the space appears under the Selected Rooms tab of your EMS reservation page and click Next Step.
