Robo-Calls and Spam Calls
When receiving unwanted robocalls or spam calls, it is important to follow protocol.
University phone lines can experience waves of spam calls, even though UConn is on the "Do Not Call" registry. These incidences have been reported to the FTC. Unfortunately, UConn does not have the ability to block specific numbers, so these unwanted calls cannot be prevented.
Per the FTC, if you get a sales call or an illegal robocall, just hang up. Do not interact in any way. Do not press buttons to be taken off the call list or to talk to a live person, as doing so will probably lead to more unwanted calls. Instead, hang up and file a complaint with the FTC.
