Synchronizing Your NetID Password (Password Test)
If you are unable to log in to UConn systems or lose access to UConn-Secure Wi-Fi, one of the first troubleshooting steps is to make sure your NetID password is synchronized with our systems. You check this by performing a password test.
NetID passwords can become unsynchronized for various reasons; for example, age can be a factor. Old or outdated passwords can result in users losing access to various University applications (most commonly Wi-Fi and Active Directory).
Running a NetID Password Test
Navigate to the NetID website.
Sign in with your NetID and NetID password.
Click on My NetID in the blue ribbon. Â
Select Password Test from the drop-down menu.
Enter your login information.Â
All three tests should pass and show a "Synchronized" message in the box next to it.Â
If one of the test results is red (i.e., Unsynchronized), see Changing Your NetID Password.Â
