Respondus 4.0

Instructors may use Respondus 4.0 to upload test questions from a document to create a test in HuskyCT. The application can also be used to download a HuskyCT test to a document. This can be used to provide paper copies of HuskyCT tests for BYOD testing.

Using Respondus 4.0 on a Mac

While Respondus 4.0 is designed to only run on Windows machines, it is available to Mac users through UConn Anyware. When run through Anyware, Mac users can use Respondus 4.0 in the same way PC users can. To do so, Mac users must first set up Anyware by installing the Citrix Workspaces. Visit the Anyware Desktop - First Time Set-Up & How to Access page for instructions on that process. Once that initial step is completed, Mac users can continue to follow the steps below to use Respondus 4.0. 

Users accessing Respondus 4.0 via Anyware from off-campus, will need to use Cisco AnyConnect VPN to access Anyware. Users can find more information on installing and using Cisco AnyConnect here: Cisco AnyConnect VPN


Downloading and Installing Respondus 4.0 (Windows)

Instructors using Macs should access Respondus 4.0 through Anyware.

  1. Download Respondus 4.0 Campus-wide from UCONN Software

  2. Install Respondus 4.0 per the Downloading and Installing Respondus 4.0 instructions

    1. The required license information can be found at Respondus 4.0 License (NetID sign in required)

  3. Configure the Respondus Server Settings to connect to Blackboard

  4. Change the default answer numbering settings Changing the Default Answer Numbering Setting in Respondus 4.0

Using Respondus to Create Exams

  1. Create a test in Respondus 4.0

    2. Upload a Word Document into Respondus 4.0: Creating a Test with Respondus 4.0 | Method 2: Importing a Word Document into Respondus 4.0

  2. Preview, and update any questions per Preview and Edit Questions

  3. Publish the test to HuskyCT per Publish Questions to HuskyCT

Using Respondus to download a HuskyCT test

  2. Instructors can then print, or save the test
