Connected Drives and Clipboard on Anyware
UConn Anyware provides UConn students, faculty, and staff access to a virtual Windows desktop through Citrix Workspace. These desktops have university-licensed software installed on them, including the Microsoft 365 suite, AutoCAD, and MATLAB.
These instructions are intended for users accessing Anyware through the Citrix Workspace application. To install Citrix Workspace see Installing Citrix Workspace.
Clipboard
Using Anyware, you can easily copy and paste files and text between the desktop and your computer using the built-in keyboard shortcuts for copy/paste (Ctrl+C/Ctrl+V in Windows, ⌘+C/⌘+V in macOS).
Connected drives
You can use connected local or network drives in Anyware when accessed via Citrix Workspace. If you have one, your Q: drive is mapped automatically to Anyware. Files stored on the Q: drive should be accessible directly through Anyware without the need to transfer them from your local computer.
Open up File Explorer on the Anyware desktop.
Under This PC, look for the hard drive or flash drive that is connected to your local computer.
Find the needed file on your drive. You can open it in Anyware directly from your local drive or by copying it to your Q: drive.
Data stored directly on the Anyware machine may be erased. We recommend saving files to a network drive or a cloud file service such as OneDrive or Google Drive.
