Clearing the Cache in Web Browsers
Internet browsers (programs like Firefox, Safari, Microsoft Internet Explorer and Chrome) save parts of a website upon the first visit. This allows the website to load quickly when visited again. Sometime clearing the cache is necessary when parts of a website have changed. Many browser-related issues can be solved by clearing browser caches.Â
Clearing the Cache in Google Chrome
Launch Chrome.
On the browser toolbar, select the menu button (3 vertical dots in the top right corner).
Select More Tools.
Select Clear Browsing Data.Â
Ensure that Cookies and Cache are selected and the range is set to All Time.
Select Clear Data.
After clearing your cache, close all open tabs/windows of the browser. When you reopen the browser, you can press Control (Command on macOS) + Shift + T to reopen all recently closed tabs. You may have to press the keys multiple times.
Clearing the Cache in Mozilla FirefoxÂ
Launch Firefox.
At the top right hand corner of the browser, click the menu button.Â
Select History.
Select Clear Recent History.
Ensure the time range is set to Everything.
Check the boxes for Cookies and Cache.
Select OK.
After clearing your cache, close all open tabs/windows of the browser. When you reopen them, you can press Control (Command on macOS) + Shift + T to reopen all recently closed tabs. You may have to press the keys multiple times.
Clearing the Cache in Safari
Launch Safari.
In the browser's toolbar, select Safari.
Select Preferences and then Privacy.
Select Manage Website Data.
Select Remove All.
Clearing the Cache in Microsoft Edge (Chromium Version)
Launch Edge.
Click on the three horizontal dots at the top right hand corner of the browser.
Click on History. Then in the popup window, click on the three horizontal dots. Click on Clear Browsing Data.
Change the time range to All Time.
Ensure Cookies and Cache are selected.
Click Clear Now.
After clearing your cache, close all open tabs/windows of the browser. When you reopen them, you can press Control (Command on macOS) + Shift + T to reopen all recently closed tabs. You may have to press the keys multiple times.
Clearing the Cache in Safari (Version 8)
From the Safari menu, select Clear History and Website Data.
Select the desired time range, and then click Clear History.
Go to Safari > Quit Safari and the browser will close.
You cannot reopen Safari with the cache cleared.

Clearing the Cache in Internet Explorer (Versions 9, 10, and 11)Â
Launch Browser.
Select the tools icon.
Select Safety.
Click Delete Browsing History.
Check off Temporary Internet Files and Cookies.
Click Delete.Â
After clearing your cache, close all open tabs/windows of the browser. When you reopen them, you can press Control (Command on macOS) + Shift + T to reopen all recently closed tabs. You may have to press the keys multiple times.
