This article covers what numbers to dial if you are calling internal or external numbers on your campus landline.

The University does not offer long-distance, international dialing, or directory assistance direct calling on student phone lines. Please use a third-party calling card to complete these transactions.

Emergency (Fire, Medical, Police)

Dial 911.

If you dial emergency by mistake, stay on the line to notify the dispatcher that you do not have an emergency.

On-Campus Calls

For (860) 427-xxxx and (860) 486-xxxx numbers,

Dial 7 + 4-Digit Extension Number

Local

Dial 8 + 860 + 7-digit number.

The Storrs local/free dialing area is limited.

Toll-Free Calls

Dial 8 + 1 + 10-digit toll-free number.

Long-Distance and International Calls

Dial 8 + the calling card number. Follow the instructions on your calling card.

Out of State Information

Dial 8 + the calling card number and follow the instructions on your calling card + Area Code + 555-1212.

International Directory Assistance
