Setting Up a Converter Box
The HuskyVision service requires a cable-ready television, but if you are using an older television that does not have a QAM tuner (Quadrature Amplitude Modulation), you can use a converter box. This article covers how to set up a converter box.
Converter boxes can be rented for the year at no cost at the ITS Technology Support Center on the first floor of the library. To avoid charges, return the converter box at the end of your rental period.
Does My TV Need a Converter Box?
If all wires are properly connected and the channel scan has been completed but the TV can only see channels 2, 3, or 4 or nothing higher than 13, then you may need a converter box.
Obtaining a Converter Box
Pick up a converter box at the ITS Help Center, located in the Homer Babbidge Library, Level 1, or contact them at (860) 486-4357.
