Registering Wireless Devices for Internet Access
To access the registration website, please visit https://services.its.uconn.edu/wireless-device-registration.
Students may need to register certain personal devices in order to connect them to the UConn network. Registered devices will be able to connect to UCONN-GUEST without needing to accept terms and conditions or to reconnect after the usual lease period expires. This does not enable connectivity to UCONN-SECURE.
This service is intended for consumer-type devices like smart televisions or gaming consoles.
Contact the Technology Support Center if you are installing industrial IoTs like thermometers, cameras, or monitoring systems, so they can advise you on the best practices.
ITS cannot guarantee that devices requiring wireless registration will be able to successfully connect to the UConn network even if registered. Since these devices are typically designed for home use, there can be an inherent incompatibility between them and our institutional network’s specifications.
Do I need to register my wireless device for UCONN-GUEST?
If your device does not require registration and is supported on the network, you can connect to UCONN-SECURE.
Yes (register for UCONN-GUEST) | No (connect to UCONN-SECURE) | Wireless not supported (see below) |

If your smart device has an Ethernet port, it is recommended to connect it to the UConn network using a wired Ethernet connection. This will provide the fastest and most stable connection for your device. Most on-campus residence halls have at least one Ethernet port for student use. If you use Ethernet for connecting to the network, you do not need to register your device.
Why are some smart home devices not supported?

Instructions for Gampel Pavilion
Email techsupport@uconn.edu with the device’s MAC address, device type, and the room number where it will be used. A technician will register the device.
Once you receive notification that the registration is complete, connect the device to the #GOHUSKIES-GUEST network. If #GOHUSKIES-GUEST is not visible or your device fails to connect to it, use the GoHuskies-Legacy-Guest network instead.
