How to Copy a Test to Another Course

This article is for instructors looking for directions on how to copy an exam from one course to another course without copying the entire course contents.

 

  1. Navigate to the course that contains the exam(s) to be copied.

  2. In the left-hand side menu, under Course Management, select Course Tools.

  3. Under Course Tools, select Tests, Surveys, and Pools.

  4. Select Tests.

  5. Select the drop-down arrow next to the exam you would like to copy.

  6. Select Export to Local Computer and save it.

    1. Repeat Steps 5 and 6 to copy over multiple exams.

  7. Exit the course and navigate to the course you want to copy the exam(s) into.

  8. Repeat steps 2, 3, and 4.

  9. Click Import Test.

  10. Click Browse Local Files, and locate the exam you wish to import.

  11. Click Submit.

    1. Repeat steps 9, 10, and 11 to import more exams.

The Test will now appear in your Tests, Surveys, and Pools list. To deploy that test to a content area of your course where students will be able to take it, see How to Deploy a Test and Setting Test Options.
