Creating and Administering Tests
Instructors can create and administer tests and surveys in HuskyCT.
For Ultra Course View, refer to: https://uconn.atlassian.net/l/cp/j9UTus50
When you create a test within HuskyCT, a grade center column is automatically created, so there is no need to manually create an additional column.
You can also create your tests outside of HuskyCT on a separate file (Word, Notepad, PDF, etc.) and upload them in HuskyCT. This requires using a separate application called Respondus 4.0 and following specific set-up and formatting guidelines. For more information on this process, see the Respondus 4.0 information page.
Open your course in HuskyCT.
Click on Assessments, and then click Test.
Click Create.
Enter a name for the test.
Optional: Add a description and instructions for the test. The description will show up in the content area (where students access the test) directly below the name of the test. The instructions will be visible to the students when they take the test.
Click Create Question to add a new question.
Choose the type of question to add.
Multiple Choice: Allows for the creation of a multiple choice question with up to 100 answer choices and one correct answer.
Multiple Answer: Functions similarly to a multiple choice question, but allows for multiple correct answers.
Essay: Allows for students to type a response to a question. Essay questions must be graded manually.
Short Answer: Functions similarly to an essay question, but allows you to determine the number of rows that will display in the answer field to manage student expectations on their answer length.
Fill in the Blank: Allows students to fill in the blank. Fill in the blank questions will be graded automatically, but may require manual grading in instances of misspellings.
Fill in Multiple Blanks: Functions as a fill in the blank question, but with multiple blanks
Tip: More information about the question types available in HuskyCT can be found at Question Types: Blackboard Help.

Complete the question options. These options vary based on the type of question chosen but include options such as which answer is correct, what feedback should be given to the students based on their answer, and what answer choices should be displayed.
