Create an Unmanaged Google Account

Create an Unmanaged Google Account

In order to access Google services using a UConn.edu address you can register for an unmanaged account in Google. This account does not receive email in Gmail, but allows you to access other Google services using an existing email address.

 Instructions

To create an unmanaged Google account:

To create a Google account using an existing email address, you need to have access to that email’s inbox. Therefore, you must have access to your UConn email mailbox in Outlook if you are going to use your UConn email address for this unmanaged account. If you are no longer affiliated with the University, you can use the https://uconn.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/IKB/pages/26611122212 to continue to receive emails at your UConn email address.

  1. Go to the Google Account Sign In page: https://accounts.google.com/signin

  2. Click Create account and create a Personal account.
