PaperStream Capture Scanning – Setup

PaperStream Capture scanning software is delivered with Fujitsu scanners. It supports multiple scan profiles, patch codes for document separation, and other configuration settings.

After the installation of the software and TWAIN scanner driver, follow the setup and configuration settings below.

The UI after you log in should look like this.

Different options of coloring
  1. Select the hamburger menu and click Configure Profiles.

    Open the menu and click configure profiles
  2. Select the profile to edit and click the edit icon.

  3. On the first page of the configuration environment, fill in the following fields. Then click Next.

    1. Name: Enter the profile name if you want it to be different than the default.

    2. Description

    3. Icon: Select an icon for something different than the default.

    4. Hotkey

    5. Priority

    6. Hide Profile

    7. Batch Name: Enter a meaningful prefix for your scanned documents.
      Ex. <Profile Name><Creation Date - yyyyMMdd>

  4. Click Next.

  5. On the second page of the configuration environment, adjust the following settings.

    1. Source: Select the scanner.

    2. Source Parameters

      1. Select Color Mode: Black & White, Grayscale, Color, AutoColor (B&W / Color)

      2. Resolution: Keep default (200 dpi) for most business documents.

      3. Paper Size

      4. Sides: Select default value – Duplex (double-sided) or Simplex (single-sided).

        1. Double-sided scanning may require Black Page Detection and Removal for blank pages (back of document with no content).

      5. Continuous Scan: Take default.

      6. For blank page configuration, click Edit.

    3. Mark Options: Do not make any selections.

    4.  Display Options

      1. Show Images During Scan: Displays preview of scanned documents; slows down scanning.

      2. Release After Scan: Select this option.

      3. Minimize App During Scan: Do not select.

      4. Exit App After Scan: Do not select this unless you want the application to end after scanning.

  6. Click the arrows to open the configuration menus.

  7. Click Page and make sure Blank Page Detection is turned ON.

  8. Click OK.

  9. Click Next.

  10. On the third page of the configuration environment, adjust the following settings. Then click Next.

    1. Destination: Where scanned documents are placed.

    2. File Properties: Select as necessary.

    3. Select Format: Standard – PDF.

    4. Compression: Accept default.

    5. Folder: Click Name Rule and Browse to locate the folder where scanned documents will reside. Ignore the other options.

    6. File: Click Name Rule and apply rules for the name of the scanned documents. Specify if you want a counter by clicking Counter.

  11. Click Next.

  12. On the fourth page, click Next.

  13. On the fifth page, select Patch Codes: Patch 1, Patch 2, and Patch 3.

  14. Click Next or Save.
