Adding Exceptions in Ultra Course View

This article is for instructors or TAs who want to add an assessment exception for students.

Overview

In Ultra, instructors can use Exceptions and Accommodations to allow students different assessment conditions then the general class.

  • Exceptions are applied to a specific assessment for a specific student.

  • An Exception can be used to give students:

    • An alternative due date

    • Additional attempts

    • Alternative access times

  • Accommodations are rules that automatically apply to all course assessments.

Click the sections below to expand them.

  1. Navigate to your Ultra course.

  2. Select the Gradebook tab.

  3. Choose the assignment you would like set an exception.

  4. Click the three dots next to the student’s name you desire to give an exception and Add or edit exceptions.

  5. From the right side popup panel, you can adjust Assessment due date, Access from and until, and Attempts allowed.

  6. Once the setting is done, click Save.

  1. Navigate to your Ultra course.

  2. Select the Gradebook tab.

  3. Navigate to the assignment you set an exception for.

  4. Click the three dots next to the student’s name you gave an exception and Add or edit exceptions.

  5. From the right side popup panel, select Reset Settings.

  6. Once the setting is done, click Save.
