  • Shut down all bandwidth-intensive apps that might be running on the network (Netflix, Prime, YouTube, etc.)

  • Close apps that will interfere with LockDown Browser such as video conferencing, screen recording or capture tools

    • LockDown Browser will try to close these apps, if it can’t, you will not be able to take the exam

Troubleshooting

  1. Restart the modem/router to help establish the best possible internet signal

  2. Restart your computer and close any apps that are running on the computer

  3. If possible, use a hard-wired Ethernet connection

    1. If a hard-wired connection is not possible, be as close to the router or Wi-Fi access point as possible. Stay at least 4ft away from the Wi-Fi access point.

    2. If on campus, ensure you are connecting to UCONN-SECURE, not UCONN-GUEST as this will provide the best connectivity

  4. Try leaving and accessing the exam again via LockDown Browser

  5. If the problem persists, try using a different network (internet connection).
