VoiceThread in HuskyCT

Instructors and TAs can use VoiceThread in HuskyCT to add interactive, slide-based presentations or discussions.

VoiceThread is a platform for asynchronous presentations and discussion that is integrated into HuskyCT. A VoiceThread is a collaborative multimedia slide-based presentation that enhances student engagement and online presence by allowing users to interact with content and with each other.

  3.  A new tab will open and display the VoiceThread Setup menu. Your selection will determine what type of VoiceThread link/content users will be sent to when they click on the link.

    1. Assignment Builder: Creates a gradable VoiceThread assignment link. There are 3 assignment types that can be built: Create, Comment, and Watch. For detailed information on each, see Creating a VoiceThread Assignment.

    2. Individual VoiceThread: Creates a link to a viewable, comment-able VoiceThread.
Example: An instructor can provide a pre-recorded lecture/presentation/Kaltura media with which users can optionally comment/interact.
Note: Individual VoiceThreads are not gradable. For more detailed information, see Individual VoiceThreads.

    3. Course View: Creates a link for users to view all the VoiceThreads that have been shared within this course.
Example: If your course has 10 modules and each module has 1 Individual VoiceThread, the Course View link would create a gallery for users containing all 10 VoiceThreads.

    4. VT Home Page: Creates a VoiceThread Home Page link that provides access to the VoiceThread homepage. The Home Page space allows users to see the VoiceThreads from ALL of their courses, the VoiceThreads they have created, and the option to Create new VoiceThreads. Users can click on the sidebar icon to see all of the VoiceThreads from other courses.
Note: Users have to view a VoiceThread for it to appear on their Home Page.
