This page provides instructors and TA’s an overview of how to access the VoiceThread tool in Blackboard Ultra courses.

Adding a VoiceThread link in an Ultra Course

  1. Open your HuskyCT Ultra course.

  2. From the main Course Content page, click on the + symbol and then click on Content Market.

  3. Scroll down and click on the VoiceThread tile.

  4. A new tab will open and display the 4 types of VoiceThread tool links to use with student users.

  • Assignment Builder: Allows you to create a gradable VoiceThread assignment. There are 3 VoiceThread assignment types: Create, Comment, and Watch. For detailed information, see VoiceThread Assignments.

  • Individual VoiceThread: Creates a link to a viewable, comment-able VoiceThread.
    Example: An instructor can provide a pre-recorded lecture/presentation/Kaltura media with which users can optionally comment/interact.
    Note: Individual VoiceThreads are not gradable. For more detailed information, see Individual VoiceThreads.

  • Course View: Creates a link for users to view a gallery of all the VoiceThreads (assignment included) that exist within this VoiceThread course.

  • VT Home Page: Creates a link that provides access to the VoiceThread Home Page. The Home Page space allows users to:

    • View and edit the VoiceThreads they have created (that they own)

    • Create new VoiceThreads

    • View VoiceThreads from ALL of their courses (that used VoiceThread), and . Users can access their other courses that use VoiceThread from the left sidebar.
      Note: Users have to view a VoiceThread for it to appear on their Home Page.
