Software as a Service Access Guide
Installation Requirements
Internet Access
Installation requires elevated or admin access.
(Ability to install applications and write to the Window’s Registry.)
Note: These instructions are nearly the same for both Windows and macOS.
Registering for a Free Account
Open a Go to https://welcome.oda.sas.com/
Click on the Dropdown Arrow (Boxed in red) to choose supporting infrastructure closest to your geographical location. (Home Region).
Choosing a region not geographically adjacent to your physical location may result in slow sessions.
Choose the appropriate Geographical location.
If you want to test the performance of each region expand the “Which region is the best home for me?” on the https://welcome.oda.sas.com/ page.
Click TEST to find a recommendation for your physical location.
Click “REGISTER OR CHECK ACCOUNT”.
If you have never signed up for SAS services, click Don’t have a SAS Profile?
Select English.
Enter your First Name.
Enter your Last Name
Enter your UConn email address only
Choose your Country or Region this can be where you are physically located or United States. Choose your physical location’ s Sate/Province/ Territory or Connecticut.
Choose Student from the drop-down menu.
Choose the appropriate expertise level from the drop-down options.
Type University of Connecticut and select University of Connecticut School of Business.
Click in the box to Agree to the Terms of use and conditions. |
Review your webform entries and make any necessary corrections.
Click Create profile.
A verification email will be sent to the uconn.edu email address you provided.
It may take a few minutes for the email to reach your inbox. If you do not receive the email, check your junk email folder.
To ensure that emails from SAS are not blocked by your mailserver, add sas.com to your list of safe sender domains.
If you have trouble creating your SAS profile, send email to SASProfileHelp@sas.com.
Open your UConn email account and check your account’s inbox for an email from replies-disabled@sas.com.
To verify your email address and activate your profile, click the link in the email (subject: Please activate your SAS Profile). You will then be prompted to set a password.
See the guide below to create a valid password this guide will show you “must have” characters and cases.
Click Set password.
