Share OneDrive data with Students quickly in Ultra Course View

Instructors can use their StudentAdmin class roster to quickly generate a list of their students in order to share files and folders with them in OneDrive. This process is hands on, however it needs to be followed just once a semester if you are following this guide: Share all course materials in HuskyCT using OneDrive in Ultra Course View or Share all course materials in HuskyCT using OneDrive in a timed release in Ultra Course View

View your roster

  1. Visit StudentAdmin and log in with your NetID credentials.

  2. Use the search box at the top to search for “Class roster”.

  3. Find your course in the list of courses on this page.

  4. In your course’s row in the table, click on the people icon to open the roster.

  5. Once you are looking at your students, click on the table icon to download the roster.

  6. Save the file to your computer.

  7. Open the file.
    If you are prompted by a security message because this is a file you downloaded from the internet, be sure to say yes I would like to open it.

  8. This spreadsheet lists all of your students' NetIDs and Email Addresses. Either can be used in this process. For this guide, I will copy all of the email addresses.

  9. Select all of the student email addresses. Do not select the header row.

  10. Press Ctrl+C on your keyboard to copy this list.

  11. Open up a new Word document to paste this list into.

  12. Place your cursor at the end of the first email address.

  13. Type a semicolon and then press the down arrow to move down to the next email address. Type another semicolon and repeat this process.
    You should be able to quickly add a semicolon to the end of each address by repeating these keystrokes: semicolon then down-arrow.

  14. Once you have a semicolon after each address, press Ctrl + A to select the whole list. Alternatively, use your cursor to hightlight the whole list.

  15. Press Ctrl + C to copy the new list.

  16. Visit s.uconn.edu/onedrive and Share the file/folder.

    1. In the recipient box, paste in your list of email addresses separated by semicolons.

    2. You will see the email addresses resolve into the students' names.

  17. Choose whether the students should be able to Edit or simply View the data by clicking on the pencil icon.
